NEW DIRECTIONS IN AFRO MUSIC / Volume 4
2015 Remastered Version
'In the Jungle there lies a trace
Of connection between the Earth and Space'
From the poly rhythm of Central Africa to the swinging beats of
Congo Square, the words, messages, hopes and aspirations were
lways carried by the sheer power of the drums and embodied by
the beauty of dancing.
Musical wisdom was only explored to the fullest while being taught
within a secret order. The music here is a late night mystery and
close cousin to the electric Miles Pan-African sonic experiences.
These harmonies explored by Biyong and his ensembles of players
are leaning towards inspiration for the soul and cultural renaissance.
